I am so happy for teenagers who are looking for a job because today there are so many opportunities to make money. Teenagers used to get only low qualified jobs as waiters or new-paper delivery that required a lot of efforts and the pay pretty low. Moreover, these jobs didn’t lead to a career or skills improvement. They didn’t teach anything except for the fact that making money is hard, and getting rich is unreal, which is not true. A teenager used to count on getting hard labor with small pay.

Nowadays, everything is changed. There are many online jobs for teens that can pay a teenager equal pay as an adult would get.

Moreover, I gathered only online jobs for teens that can be done remotely from home.

Helpful tips

To help you effectively manage teen life/work balance here are some helpful tips:

1. Set schedule

It may be very tempting to choose work that will bring you actual money vs homework or school activities. But remember that your main goal as a teenager is to invest in yourself and improve your skills and knowledge to prepare for future life.

Therefore treat your online job as a side hustle and don’t let it seize your life. I suggest setting up a fixed amount of hours per day or a whole weekend for a job. Concentrate the rest of your precious time on self-development and studies to become a smart and educated person. It is always nice to be a good one.

2. Get a PayPal or a bank account

Think about how you’ll get the money when it’s time to receive a payment. This time will come very soon when you work hard. Moreover, a lot of platforms with automated payments ask for your bank or PayPal account in advance.

My suggestion here would be to create a PayPal account anyway because it is an easy and secure way to receive money comparing to sharing all the bank account information.

3. Always check age requirements

It may be Age requirements differ and can change. Whenever you’re ready to apply for a new job, check for age requirements to save you and the hiring company’s time.

4. Keep track of your earnings

It is a healthy money management habit to keep track of your earnings. In that case you can celebrate milestones and see the progress.

5. Save or invest part of the income

Don’t let all the hard-earned money slip away on new gadgets, entertainment, or clothes. Learn the basics about how money work, how to get rich, and how to build wealth. Moreover, invest money in yourself and not on the things that won’t last.

6. Share with parents

Yeah, I know. You want to be independent, and all that stuff. I get it. I was a pretty tough teen myself, so I totally get it.

But think of it in this way: you start making money and suddenly you can afford things. Parents will see that anyway and will ask way too many questions about how and when. Prepare parents beforehand. Just let them know that you’re looking for a side hustle, not a big deal. But they will be prepared.
